This 10-year-old created a ‘hug curtain’ so she can hug her grandparents

Necessity is the mother of invention and in these trying times sometimes a hug from Grandma is just necessary.

That's why a 10-year-old girl from Riverside, California invented a see-through "hug curtain" so that she could hug her grandparents without breaking quarantine.

As reported by Good Morning America this 10-year-old inventor, Paige, used a shower curtain, disposable plates and plastic bags to create a shield that would allow her to hug her family.

"She came up with the idea, she laid it out in the family room and spent multiple hours working on it," her mom, Lindsay Okray told ABC News.

Paige hasn't been able to hug her grandparents without protection for some time because Okray is on the frontlines, working as a nurse in a COVID-19 unit at a California hospital. She's proud of her work but must stay physically distant from vulnerable populations, which includes Paige's grandparents.

We're in awe of the little girl's ingenuity and hope that this family will be reunited (without the hug curtain) soon. In the meantime, we are so proud of Paige for keeping her family safe.
